Dress A Girl Around the World

logo

Do you own a dress that you really really love? Perhaps it’s your wedding dress or a dress you went somewhere very special in? Both Becksie and Lizzie do and just the very thought of them makes us very happy! What makes us very unhappy is that some girls in the world will never have the opportunity to own a dress!

The Dress A Girl Around the World’ charity has really captured Becksie’s heart and……….. in true Becksie style she has set herself a challenge! The challenge is to contribute 200 dresses to this fab cause!

You can read all about the charity here and all about the awesome Sew Scrumptious UK arm here!

  1. What a brilliant thing to do Becksie!! You’re an inspiration!! I was a social worker for many years too in child protection & mental health. I loved it cos I loved the chance to help people and am now writing a novel about it. For a creaky old person like me making clothes for others is a great way to help people I’ll never meet so once my book is finished I’ll do a few myself. I love your approach to supermarkets too, we’ve cut down on them loads, especiaally since that wonderful market garden shop has opened in Cirencester!

    • yes the Market Garden shop is great! it would be great if you could make some dresses, we had a great sewing day in January in Bibury, do you want me to add you to the mailing list if you would be interested in coming to a future one?

  3. is there a deadline to this? do you want the dresses by a certain date?
is there a particular size you want/need?
Im trying to maybe get a few crafty girls together to hopefully send a few dresses to you. : )

  4. This is a laudable cause. I have a couple of dresses belonging to my daughter which I am happy to donate; they simple dresses but most are ready made altho I have a couple I made for her, does that matter? If so can you email details of where to send them please.
