6th December

6 (1

Today we got up and Lizzie checked her advent calendar to reveal an activity that she has termed ‘playplay’! Any guesses? Well….’playplay’ means playdough! Now Lizzie (and Becksie) Loves playing with ‘playplay’ and we spend hours playing together, we make pretend biscuits, playplay people (Lizzie likes to make playplay Uncle Liams best??), animals, boats etc etc. We already have a large tin full of homemade playplay but our task today was slightly different. Today we had to make ginger bread scented playplay!

6 (5Now making playplay is in actual fact hugely simple and extremely good fun! Should you wish to make ‘normal playplay’ simply get together the following ingredients.

Take 1 tablespoon of coconut oil (you can use other oils but coconut smells amazing and is kind and good for skin) and heat it gently in a pan.

Add half a cup of salt, half a cup of water, a whole cup of flour and 2 teaspoons cream of tartar.

Mix, mix, mix over a low heat and as if by magic the ingredients will come together into a wonderful dough (you can even go wild and add a drop or three of food colouring). Tip out (whilst still a bit sticky) onto a floured  (and glittered  if you want to go really mad) surface and knead like bread! Add sprinkles of flour until it is a lovely smooth dough!

6 (4Give to small person who will be entertained for hours! Lizzie loves to roll it, smell it, shape it, knead it and (despite being told NO a million times) eat it!!!!!!

6 (2So today we set out with our trusty basic recipe but at the mixing stage added the following: a good sprinkling of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and ground cloves.

6 (3Our kindness activity was to write and post a letter to Aunty Leah which……. we did (we didn’t have a stamp so we will post it tomorrow)! So Narna watch out for post from Lizzie and Becksie!

Remember tomorrow is #ShopLocalSaturday!!supporting-sls-thumb1

Happy 6th December from the TV-free family that is Team Pugh!
