Where’s The Market?

The market but not this week hehe

So here it is our regular shopping post all about where from and what we have purchased this week. This time there is a slight saga involved. As Ian has the week off Becksie had a little errand to run so instead of her usual trip to market et al she wrote a strict list for Ian and Lizzie to return with.

Now the list…….. wasn’t all that exciting as we seemed to have lots in but still nothing at the same time. The list required the intrepid pair to return with halloumi, butter, potatoes, grapes, bananas, one dinner’s worth of meat and milk. Becksie went off on her (non food based mission) and about an hour into her mission called the other 2/3rds of Team Pugh with a query only to be told that they could not find the market!

Those of you who know Faringdon will know we have a small but very regular Tuesday market….. except,  it seems on the day that Ian was promoted to head shopper! Oh well he got what he could from the list from Rob the cheese and Pat the butcher and return with his incomplete list still puzzled as to why the market was a no show. We may also have forgotten to take a picture of the goods eeek.

A Grandad Gray Veg 'bag'!

A Grandad Gray Veg ‘bag’!

Fortunately this week we got ourselves another Grandad Gray veg box for free. We then found ourselves in Hungerford a few days later and found a fabulous butcher / greengrocers where we got fruit!

We may have a) eaten some of the grapes before getting them home and b) during our adventure squashed the bananas making them look well..... sad

Next door was a deli full of treats but  after a good look we decided to practice what we preach and not buy what we don’t need. We didn’t quite leave empty handed though as by the door was a basket and a sign saying ‘duck bread please take some’. We took some and Lizzie was dispatched (much to her delight) to feed the ducks!
