Shopping – Week 39

Shopping week 39 1So this week was Faringdon’s monthly Farmers’ Market, and seen as we missed the market in July we were looking forward to it!

The sun was shining as Becksie and Lizzie headed off into Faringdon, the bright sunny market days make the icy winter ones feel a distant memory. First stop was a visit to the lovely Jane from Dews Meadow Farm who we sold us some sausages for the freezer, some hogs pudding (a definite Team Pugh favourite) and a nice pork joint for a roast, which we had on Wednesday and was AMAZING! Supermarket meat is something we do not miss in the slightest!Shopping week 39 2

Home grown vegetables ………… I guess we best make him a cake

A quick trip to the fruit and veg stall for some………..fruit (we have quite a bit of veg kicking around, included some donations from Grandad Gray) and then a stop off to buy some oil from our local rape seed oil farm. We made a quick stop to get some butter and then to Hare in the Woods for some peanuts.Shopping week 39 4

After our market trip we headed off to Deddington to see Sandie and took a little trip to their lovely local deli, where we bought some soy sauce and some great reduced almonds, a lovely day was had by all!

We also picked up a few bits for something else we are working on………………………..but we will reveal all about that at a later date!

Shopping week 39 3

Total spend this week comes in at £36.70, meaning that after 39 weeks of supermarket-free life we have saved a massive………………(drum roll please)……………………£555 on our £50 per week budget – absolutely fantastic!
