Food rut

Errrmmm we are in a food rut! rut 2

It’s not that we’re not eating great food or not enjoying what we’re eating its just that we’ve realised we are not trying as many new things as we could be. This is partly because we are a busy family doing busy things but……. this isn’t a great excuse! We have a good collection of fabulous recipe books sat on our shelf so……… we just need to pull them off the shelf, read them, make them and eat them. That’s the recipes not the books – although our littlest member is quite partial to a bit of ‘book’.

We realised with horror we have failed to make any of our recipe resolutions which is quite frankly a disgrace! We will must will will deal with this!

We will also plan a big batch cook of delights for the freezer as its currently full of cake! So to get us started Becksie set to and once again tidied and audit the pantry and the fridge and we will now makes some new and interesting things to eat!rut 1

Right enough talk now for more action………

  1. I am very impressed with your kitchen cupboard Becksie, my baking ingredients cupboard is a Bête Noir! Lots of ingredients in the smallest highest cupboard! And it’s over the cooker hob so difficult to access……perhaps I’ve just solved my own problem…..swap the cupboards around! Oh well better get on with it then. Enjoy finding some new interesting recipes and cooking them, and if its raining like today it’s the right time for cooking(without cooking yourself in the heat).

  2. Oh I love your larder! It was the original 1950’s pantry – complete with tiled “cool shelf” that sold our flat to us when we bought it – a lot of the neighbours have ripped theirs out but we love ours and it will be going nowhere!
