We decided to cook these blondies for the same amount of time as we cook Jenny’s brownies for (which is 22 minutes in our oven) but next time we will do them for less as they have come out a little on the cakey side, but are still delicious.
So preheat your oven to 190c.
Melt 1/2 a cup of butter, put in a bowl with a cup of dark brown sugar and mix well.
Add a dash or two of vanilla essence and an egg and then whisk. Add half a teaspoon of baking powder, 1/8 teaspoon of baking powder, a cup of plain flour (we used strong bread flour). Whisk again and add 1/3 cup of crushed pecans and…… mix well. Bake for approximately 15 – 20 minutes, remove from oven, cool, slice into squares and enjoy!
