Today saw Becksie and Lizzie go to see some friends and enjoy a little bit of lunch and a lovely chat about food!
Over lunch we were discussing our year without supermarkets and our little friend aged 3 nearly 4 seemed very bemused by the whole concept! She said in her most cutest voice ‘but Tesco’s is nice they sell nice things’! Isn’t it funny how such a wee human can make a comment that holds so much sense! She is right Tesco’s do sell nice things, but so far so good we are not missing Tescos et al and we have some lovely food in the fridge / cupboard!
Our discussion lead us to an impromptu recipe swap and we are very excited to make some of the meals Suzanne has told us about. The first thing we plan to make are these parmesan scones which you might like to have a go at too:
1 cup self raising flour
A pinch of cayenne pepper
2 tablespoons of finely grated parmesan cheese
½ cup coarsely grated cheddar
½ cup of milk
Preheat oven to 190c lightly grease a baking sheet. Combine flour, cayenne, parmesan and half the cheddar.
Pour in milk and stir until the mixture forms a sticky dough.
Flatten to a 2cm thick and cut out scones with a cutter or glass.
Brsuh scones with a little milk and top with the rest of the cheddar bake for about 20 minutes!
